So Kimbo Slice Is Gonna Wrestle In Japan?
According to DOT NET. Kimbo is set to make his wrestling debut: ".... February 5 Inoki Genome Federation." The second half of DOT NET's headline read: "...COULD WWE BE NEXT?". The article went on to say that Kimbo's name has been brought up as a possible "enforcer" type for this year's Wrestlemania. Nothing has been CONFIRMED, so take that with a HUGE GRAIN OF SALT!
Call me an old fart, but I remember in 1997 when Iron Mike Tyson was the special "enforcer" for that year's Wrestlemania main event. Here is his debut segment Pt 1.

Let's say for arguement's sake that Kimbo is offered the role. How will the WWE spin this. In 1997 they were the edgy product, now they are a PG product. I'm sure that they will find a way. Meanwhile over in TNA-ville, we are treated to the Jeff/Karen Jarrett vs Kurt Angle story line. You have Jeff Jarrett doing an MMA gimmick now, and if anyone deserved to get his @$$ handed to him for goofing on MMA its Jarrett, its just too bad that the people in TNA don't think outside the box. Kimbo having an altercation with Jarrett in the Impact Zone out of no where would be a hell of allot better TV than the swill that they are spewing out now.
But then again what do I know I'm just a "mark".

My ECW Experience-Hartford, CT 1999
Inspired by THIS!
Hartford 1999. Whilst watching Monday Night Raw and Nitro (flipping). An ad came up for a house show by everyone's favorite promotion ECW. They were coming to "invade" the armory and the city, I spoke to my friend Lou and we were going. We managed to score FRONT ROW seats, and I could not wait to go. To this very day, no show has come CLOSE to matching the atmosphere/craziness of that night. The main event was Spike Dudley vs RVD. I remember my friends getting into a shouting match with Danny Dorring making fun of his purple tights, to which he shouted "ITS MAROON @$$H***!" Sal E. Grazzianno threatening my friends and then running into them at the bath room during a piss break. Talking to Tommy Dreamer (and coming off like a total mark, but he was gracious enough to sign my stub) Francine and Dawn Marie getting into a catfight, Balls Mahoney getting powerbombed through a table covered with, what else THUMBTACKS! The Dudleys inciting a near riot by saying something to the effect of "....there are more sp**s here than at the local INS!", having a conversation with Bill Alfonso, and watching some idiot throw a CRUTCH in the ring for Sabu, and getting thrown out by Atlas security! Justin Credible acting like a complete heel, and asking for his t shirt back. Oh yeah the ECW film crew was there too. The intensity of that night is something I will never forget. No tape can do it justice either. ECW was about a "vibe"that NO ONE has been able to duplicate ever since. Sure the speaker system was shit, the ring was crap, but the crew gave it their ALL. I was hoarse for days. It was the best $30.00 I ever spent!

Larry Dallas' "VIP Section" opens its doors at EVOLVE 6.
For those of you who follow Evolve, you may have seen the backstage segments starring Seth Davis. You also have read in this humble blog my desire for someone to slap Seth Davis silly. In those segments Seth was talking about painting the town red, and acting like a big shot. I didn't care for Davis, too loud, too over the top. There was a guy with Davis that basically dressed like something out of the Jersey Shore and Miami Vice. He just sat back and looked cool. He smiled allot, I thought he was a hanger-on. How wrong I was.
His name is Larry Dallas, and at EVOLVE' 6 he made his intentions known He recruited the one guy that I want to see pushed to the moon next year, Johnny Gargano. In my opinion the way Gargano has been over-looked this year is CRIMINAL. At least I won't have to suffer through yet another rematch with Jimmy Jacobs. Gargano has bigger fish to fry.
Dallas also recruited the one guy who has been rubbing me the wrong way since he showed up
to Evolve. Chuck Taylor. I don't like him, he is an ego-maniac, but he gets the job done. There is no shame in losing to Austin Aries or Mike Quackenbush. I am sure that Taylor could care less. He is a "college student" with a life outside of wrestling. That's the dynamic.These two will make waves in EVOLVE, and the man that made it happen is Larry Dallas.

Chuck Taylor (3-1) vs. Austin Aries (0-0)-Fans voted this match as the main. Taylor is main eventing his 2nd EVOLVE show. He got past double C (Claudio Castagnoli) but will he get past A-Double Austin Aries. I also read that he is suing EVOLVE? What's that all about. My pick for this match is A-Double.
Bonus Main Event
Homicide (0-0) vs. Jon Moxley (0-1)-This is the match I thought was going to get top billing. It has marquee match written all over it. But then again this is Evolve, and this match has the potential to break down into a bloody brawl. So maybe this is why its a co-headliner. I pick MOX
EVOLVE 1 Rematch
Kyle O'Reilly (2-2) vs. Bobby Fish (0-4)-Fish needs to win here, period! I pick Fish.
Special Attraction Match
Ricochet (2-2) vs. Adam Cole (1-2)-Cole has shown alot of personality in other feds, I wish some of that cockiness would show up here. I pick Ricochet for this one.
Clash Of Egos
Jimmy Jacobs (4-1) vs. Johnny Gargano (3-2)-I pick Gargano. My biggest beef with Evolve is that they didn't push Gargaon this year. Maybe he is making strides in DGUSA, or A1W but not in Evolve. Jacobs rubs me the wrong way. He is too EMO and I hate EMO. Its nothing personal against Jacobs, maybe this time Gargano/Jacobs will come to a close (in Evolve anyway).
Tag Team Action
Up In Smoke of Cheech & Cloudy (3-0) vs. The Super Smash Brothers of Player Uno & Player Dos (3-0)-We will get to see a tag match, b/ween two unbeaten teams and not a blur fest. I like the CHIKARA mainstays.
Special Attraction Match
Drake Younger (3-0) vs. Silas Young (0-1)-FINALLY big Silas returns to EVOLVE, he hasn't been seen since the 1st show. Drake's got his work cut out for him. I cannot pick, because I like both.
Four-Way Match - One Win On The Line
Rich Swann (0-1) vs. AR Fox (0-0) vs. Tony Nese (0-0) vs. Scott Reed (0-0)-New faces, new blood, new possibilities. I can't pick anyone but I want to see how this match plays out.

2010-11-06 187 vs Mercedes Martinez @ WSU?
The "Notorious' 187 is spreading a reign of terror in the indies. He went to CZW and beat Sami Callihan, now he turns his attention to Mercedes Martinez? I am not a fan of domestic violence, but I really am at a loss on who to root for here. Should I root for "187", or should I root for the hard hitting Martinez? If "187" goes in there and beats Martinez like he would anyone else, he would get MASSIVE heel heat. If he lets Martinez run roughshod over him, he will never be able to live it down. This is the only time where the "fingerpoke of doom" would work well here. I don't know who booked this match, but if it was me doing the booking I would have Homicide hand pick someone to be the "femaile" version of himself. If Mercedes gets through Homicide's protege, she gets "five minutes alone" with the "187." This is one match that a dainty "Diva" or a frail "Knockout" couldn't get through. Mercedes is LEGIT tough, but will her toughness be enough to overcome the "187". Only one way for you to find out....be there or get the i-ppv!
