Interview with CTWE's Joey Bricco about Bricco-Mania 3

Who-Joey Bricco
What-Connecticut Wrestling Entertainment (CTWE)
Event-Bricco Mania III
Details-Bethany Town Hall, Bethany CT

Question 1-How long has CTWE been in existence? -Almost 3 years now, CTWE began in August 2008.

Question 2-What kind of atmosphere can one expect at a CTWE event?-Family friendly, fun, and lots of high-flying entertainment.

Question 3-How long have you been a fan of wrestling?-My whole life.

Question 4-What was the first wrestling card you ever saw?-I don't remember the whole card, but the main event was The Rock vs Stone Cold, it was a house show event at the XL center in Hartford. That was the first live event I ever attended. I think it was back in 1998.

Question 5-Who did you cheer for when you were a kid?-Shawn Michaels and The Rock, hands down.

Question 6-Is indy wrestling alive and well in the state of CT? -Unfortunately I would say not it is not. CTWE is the only true independent company in CT as of right now, excluding NEW who runs in multiple states and bring sin huge names. There have been numerous companies within the past, and about 2-3 years ago around this time there were probably a good 4-5 promotions one could work for in CT.

All the more reasons for people to check this event out, I have always said that indy wrestling really needs to shine in CT. I know that CT is WWE's back yard, but some indies should exist here. Indies can only do that with YOUR support

Question 7-Who are the stars of CTWE?-Although I feel all of our talent is superb, I would have to say that the top dogs would be Dave Cole, Chris Battle, Frankie Arion, Lukas Sharp, William King, Brian Anthony, J-Busta, AJ Cruise, and Ant Battle.

I invite any of these names to post a video as a sort of way of introducing themselves.

Question 8-Where can people find out about events, and buy tickets? -They can go to or go to Ken's Cards in Berlin, CT, he is our ticket vendor. Their number is 860-832-8302

Question 9-Any chance of CTWE coming a bit closer to Hartford, CT? i don't see it happening in the near future, although never say never. We have a great relationship with the Bethany Town Hall and are very appreciative of how cooperative they have been with us throughout the years

Question 10-There are many fans who want to see the "glitz and glamor".
There are other die-hards who believe that the "wrestling" is the most
important thing and the rest is icing on the cake?
I think that feds big or small need to strike a balance b/ween the two. What about you?- I feel that while wrestling is the sport behind the event itself, any promotion can put on good matches. but its the entertainment aspect that separates promotions from one another. people need to care about what they are seeing. Hulk Hogan vs Andre the Giant may have been the worst "wrestling" match of all time, but 93,000 people still came to see it and it is many people's favorite match to date, for example.

Thank you for taking the time to do this-My pleasure James.
I saw the Hogan/Andre match, I still remember going crazy when Hogan body slammed Andre. Steamboat/Savage may have been the show stealer in many hardcore  fans' eyes, but you can't deny the above statement. Wrestling needs to be entertaining, but still needs to focus on the wrestling  CTWE (IMO) is trying to strike a balance. Judge for yourself, come to the May 14th card in Bethany, CT.

Again my thanks to Joey Bricco for doing this.....

How Not to Draw Attention To Your Product.-Like That's Gonna Help!

Apparently the King of the Mountain Jeff Jarrett has issued a challenge to the newly married William and Kate. Jarrett is tired of the "free loaders". The story broke in the reputable journalistic institution known as THE DAILY STAR First of all-yeah right. Privileged royals have better ways to spend other people's money than to come to Orlando, FL to take part in an exhibition contest. Second of all-this type of  "pandering" isn't gonna do anything for anyone. I am sure that we will get doubles to play the parts of the royals. Let me guess one of the knockouts will probably interfere in the match and try to seduce "Wills" away from "Kate"....fuck it! I'm not gonna give them anymore ammunition. They can shoot themselves in the foot just fine without my help.

Bad Decisions-Watching Impact....

Why do you hate yourself so?

That was the reply to my post on FB announcing that I would watch TNA's  show which aired last night.

Segment 1- Karen Jarrett, and all the "Knockouts" in the ring. Karen wants to find out who Kurt Angle is boinking. We are left with 1/2 of the former Beautiful Peoplle, and the other half is under some kind of mind control, from some chick named Winter.

PS I would of bet money that the catering and seamstress women were both boinkiong Kurt Angle, and anything else that came along, just to hurry the segment up and focus on the oh I don't know. WRESTLING?

Where is the wrestling?

Its no wonder I switched and watched Death Wish IV.

I flip back and see Sting beating the shit out of.......Ken Anderson's truck.

Switch back to Death Wish IV.

I flip back to see Samoa Joe (a mere shadow of his former self btw) saying that NO-ONE will ever beat his streak. Surely not a muscle head named Crimson.

Death Wish IV is in the lead as Charles Bronson kills a drug dealer by shooting him with a rocket launcher. Or was that the ending of Death Wish III. I forgot.

Fuck it. I'll watch the RERUN of Death wish IV Impact is still on at 10pm. No one cares! I don't care about the show, the wrestlers are not the focus of the show, titles are not the focus of the show. But somewhere Charles Bronson (god bless him) is doing what he does best. Shooting evil doers, and giving me a nice pay off at the end.

Charles Bronson=more IMPACT than IMPACT

World Wrestling Network Presents
EVOLVE 7: Aries vs. Moxley
April 19th, 2011
Belltime: 8pm
Doors: 6pm
BB King Blues Club & Grill
237 W. 42nd Street (located in Times Square)
Manhattan, NY 10036

The Main Event
Austin Aries (1-0) vs. Jon Moxley (1-1)
Read This First!
Will this be Jon Moxley's last stand in Evolve?
As much as I want Moxley to go out a winner, Aries will win this match.
Its what happens AFTER the match that I am gonna be interested in.

Spoiler Match #1 (Win Leader vs. New Debut)
Chuck Taylor (4-2) vs. Akira Tozawa (0-0)-I pick ***sigh*** Taylor for this one see below as to why

Spoiler Match #2 (Win Leader vs. New Debut)
Jimmy Jacobs (4-2) vs. Shiima Xion (0-0)-I pick Jacobs for this one see below as to why
**EDIT** Since I posted this on my blog I had a chance to check out Xion's promo
I liked it allot, and the viral vid that he took of Jacobs calling CM Punk a b***h is a great story line.

Spoiler Match #3 (Win Leader vs. New Debut)
Johnny Gargano (4-2) vs. Jon Davis (0-0)-As much as I want to see Jon Davis beat the bejesus out of Gargano, it aint gonna happen, I've said if before and I will say it again. Gargano is the most misused talent in the entire roster.
**EDIT** Since I posted this on my blog I've had a chance to see Silas Young's promo and he brings up as
Gargano as a thorn in his side. Great back story and I would not be surprised if Silas has something to say AFTER this match is over!

Tag Team Challenge
Jigsaw & Frightmare (2-0) vs. Facade & Jason Gory (0-0)-CHIKARA Mainstays for the win

International Challenge Match
Sami Callihan (2-1) vs. Zack Sabre Jr. (0-0)-Callihan really impressed with his match against Arik Cannon.
Its time for Callihan to shine in EVOLVE.

Special Challenge Match #1
AR Fox (0-0) vs. Rich Swann (0-1)-I pick Rich Swann.

Special Challenge Match #2
Silas Young (1-1) vs. Tony Nese (0-1)-Big Silas Young is BACK in Evolve, where the hell is Brodie Lee? I pick Silas for the win.

Edge Retires-Who Will He Surrender His Title To?

This blog post is dedicated to the memory of "Sweet-n-Sour" Larry Sweeny. RIP.

We have all seen countless retirement speeches, that were not real, and a few that were.
Last night the "rater R superstar" Edge announced his retirement. This Friday Edge has to surrender his championship. The smart move would be to have a tournament to crown a new champion. Edge should help his friend Christian go all the way to the top.

But I bet they are just going to give it to Alberto Del Rio, which would be stupid because then he'd be nothing more than the guy who LOST to Edge, only to get the title anyway.

Oh well I guess we all have to tune in on Friday....thank you Edge!

CSW-Constitution State Wrestling

This is an idea of mine going back at least 10 years. It was a minor storyline for an efed that I was involved with. The name stuck, my interest in e-fedding did not. You have an opportunity to create a fed from the ground up how would you book it. Who would you bring in.

Video responses to this question can be posted on my You Tube Channel just look for Olympiakos71

1 match I would include on the debut card would be Jay Walker vs JT Evans. Another guy I would like to bring in is Phillip Stamper

I would create divisions based on weight class, a tag team division, and a ladies championship.

Everything would be based on win loss records, BUT I would still leave one spot on the card for a LEGENDS match, because you need a legend or two to add legitimacy to your card. Cards would be available for purchase on DVD, or if an ippv company wanted to get involved that would be cool too.

EVOLVE-Asks Its Fans To Vote For The Main Event At Evolve 7 (aka fantasy booking time)

Evolve is giving its fans a chance to vote on its main event. They have a choice of

Jon Moxley vs. Austin Aries
Chuck Taylor vs. Tozawa

If it was me booking the show (and thank God it isn't, because my booking sucks) I would actually flip the matches around in the following way.

Austin Aries vs Tozawa-c'mon now this would be a clinic. Not that the ungrateful fans would appreciate it. They would piss all over it, and they would shout nonsensical comments because they are in love with their own voices.

Chuck Taylor vs. Jon Moxley-I hate to say this, but since this is Moxley's last stand, put him up against Evolve's resident ego maniac, the guy who has beaten everyone (almost) Evolve has put in front of him. Plus the fact that Moxley has issues with the VIP's Reby Sky. Hell even Larry Dallas could get involved in this somehow by offering Mocley a shitload of money to join the VIP and forsake his WWE deal. Moxley of course would be beaten by Taylor (w/ help from the rest of the VIP) and in his final act of defiance would accept Dallas' flithy lucre and simply walk out of BB Kings and Evolve with some of Dallas'  money, after he lays Dallas out......

Remember to visit and vote on the main event.
If you cannot make it to the show you can always see it on PPV at

WWE's PG Universe Is About To Get Shaken Up-Moxley Is Coming

Inspired by this blog post
If there was ever a man that epitomizes the term heel it would be Jon Moxley. For those of you not familiar with his work, all you have to do is pick up EVOLVE 6 and watch his match against Homicide. Hell even go a bit farther back and watch his match against Drake Younger at Evolve 3. Moxley has been called by some as "this generation's Roddy Piper". Google some of his promo's for Dragon Gate USA. Moxley is headed to the WWE, how he will be used is up to the brass there. I cannot wait to see him in the big stage. Moxley can be put against anyone there and he will generate such intense hatred by the fans it will be scary. I would love to see him go against Daniel Bryan. The feud would write itself. Bryan is seen by many as the "darling" of the indy circuit. Moxley is a loner, he has had to scratch and claw his way to greatness (self perceived). A baby face is only as good as the heel he is put up against. Good luck Mox!

Wrestlemania 27 PICKS and Imaginary Booking Scenarios

Eight Man Tag Match-Barrett, Jackson, Slater, Gabriel

Sheamus vs . Bryan-I so want Bryan to win, or at least  "shoot" on Sheamus in the ring, as long as he isn't made to look like a scrub, even if Sheamus wins this one, it'll be a great match.

The match with SNOOKI-You know its gonna end up with Snooki and Vickie in the ring at some point, Vickie will bump for Snookie and make her look good. Out of nowhere J-WOWWW will do a run in, and cost Snookie's team the match. They will end up doing a stare down and then share a passionate ki......wait a sec, what were we talking about here? Oh yeah SNOOKI's match.....yawn! Poor Vickie.

Rey vs Cody Rhodes-I pick Rey, I think Sin Caras will debut duriing his match.

Lawler vs Cole-Lawler all the way! Cole doesn't get a single shot during the match. This has to be an EPIC beatdown. This has to be a beating of such intensity that Tully Blanchard will actually feel sorry for Cole. After the match is over SCSA helps Cole to his feet and stuns him!

Orton vs Punk-I want CM Punk to win this one, and at some point Punk can PUNT Orton!

Undertaker vs HHH-Taker all the way!

Cena vs Miz-Cena will win and the Rock will have no choice but to count Miz's shoulders for the fall

Edge vs Del Rio-IMO this match should have gone on BEFORE Cena/Miz. That way Del Rio could have gotten the win, but if this is gonna be the match order. Edge will get the win! You gotta end Mania on a positive note!
